Our Travel Mug is made of 316 stainless steel, which is high-quality drinkware that won’t stain easily, retains temperature, and is packed with extra features!
316 stainless steel is preferred over 304 stainless steel for bottles and other containers in certain applications because it has superior corrosion resistance, particularly in harsh or corrosive environments. The higher levels of molybdenum and nickel in 316 stainless steel make it more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion caused by chloride ions, which can be found in saltwater, sweat, and some cleaning solutions.
316 stainless steel is also more resistant to high temperatures, making it suitable for applications where the bottle will be exposed to extreme heat or sterilization procedures.
However, 304 stainless steel may be a suitable alternative for applications where corrosion resistance is not a major concern.
